Born as an orphan in Dwarahat, Uttarakhand, Harkua lost his parents at a young age and faced rejection from society. But fate had other plans. Adopted by Methodist missionary James Mills Thoburn, he traveled to America, received an education, became Dr. Harkua Wilson, and returned to India to serve thousands.
As a doctor, missionary, writer, and diplomat, Dr. Harkua Wilson earned immense respect across Kumaon, western Nepal, and Tibet. He established mission hospitals, treated countless patients, promoted education, and even played a crucial role in rescuing British explorer Henry Landor from Tibetan captivity.
This is the inspiring story of a forgotten hero whose journey proves that determination and opportunity can transform even the most difficult beginnings into an extraordinary legacy.
